Sulom to engage Ekhaya on refund
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) says it will engage Ekhaya FC on the club’s demand for a refund of expenses accumulated when they travelled to Lilongwe for the postponed TNM Super League match against Mafco on September 13.
Sulom postponed all week 18 matches, including the Ekhaya-Mafco fixture which was set for Champions Stadium in Mponela, Dowa outside the 48-hour window provided by its own rules and regulations.

The league runners, in a statement, said they did this following a recommendation to give a chance to people to go and vote in the September 16 General Election.
However, the postponement came after the Blantyre-based outfit had already left for Mponela.
Ekhaya chief executive officer Thando Mhango confirmed that the club officially wrote Sulom requesting compensation on travel and accommodation expenses.
But Sulom general secretary Williams Banda in an interview said they will engage the club on the issue.
He said: “We will need more time. Will engage them because the rules and regulations do not provide for such eventualities; hence, more time.”
Apart from Ekhaya, the postponement of the eight TNM Super League matches also took other teams by surprise.
Some fans had also already bought tickets for the match between FCB Nyasa Bullets and Dedza Dynamos.
Bullets commercial manager Kelvin Moyo said the postponement was a big setback, considering that Sulom knew about the general elections long time ago.
He, however, assured fans to keep the tickets safe since they are still valid.
Said Moyo: “Those that have bought the tickets should know that the tickets are still valid. They should keep them safe.
“They should not tamper with the security features that are on the ticket, and the ticket will be used in the next game Bullets will host at Kamuzu Stadium.”
